Eric Phillippi, MD — Medical Director, Vein Center of Wisconsin
Dr. Eric Phillippi is a board-certified physician and the Medical Director of the Vein Center of Wisconsin. He serves on the Advisory Board of Health Performance Specialists (HPS)—the largest independent vein care network—bringing national perspective to local patient care. He specializes in the full spectrum of venous disease, from cosmetic spider and reticular veins to symptomatic varicose veins, using minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided techniques, and he regularly delivers venous-related CME lectures to clinicians.
Care Philosophy
Dr. Phillippi believes most vein concerns can be accurately diagnosed and effectively treated in the office without general anesthesia. Equally important, he prioritizes clear communication—ensuring patients fully understand their ultrasound findings, the diagnosis, and each step of the treatment plan.
He emphasizes thorough vascular diagnostics and evidence-based, minimally invasive interventions that reduce cost and recovery time—so most treatment plans can be completed in weeks rather than months.
Background & Leadership
Dr. Phillippi earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed residency in Family Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He pursued advanced fellowship training focused on venous and lymphatic medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and regenerative techniques. An internationally recognized expert in regenerative medicine, he is the past president of the International Association for Regenerative Therapies (IART); he is also a co-founder of the Regenerative Procedures Institute, a premier teaching organization for advanced regenerative orthopedic techniques. He holds an adjunct clinical faculty appointment at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, mentoring learners in office-based procedural skills.
Beyond the Clinic
Faith, family, and friends remain Dr. Phillippi’s core motivation. Away from work, he enjoys time with his wife and two daughters. When he can steal a moment, you’ll find him snowboarding, practicing archery, playing golf, woodworking, or tackling house projects.
